Iran
Osama bin Ladin
Afghanistan/Pakistan
Reduce our dependence on oil
Pakistan might not want our aid
Military assistance could backfire like it did in Afghanistan

The government has already begun to cut back on aid

CON (Continue aid)
Could create a stable nation, which would benefit US. Potential for more nations becoming stable.
Humanitarian obligation (to children and citizens). Polio
Unstable government
Could hurt our diplomatic relationship if aid is suspended
Sanctions?
UNICEF (US is a main funder)
Oil (how much oil do we get from Pakistan)
Situation could be worse (we don't know how it would be without aid)
What is the cost of removing the military? Increase in infiltration of terror?
